Silicone or PTFE — which mold do you need?
Silicone (platinum-cure) molds are our most common option: flexible, easy to demold, and well suited to routine casting at standard curing temperatures. Most labs start here.
We offer a wide variety of geometries off-the-shelf.
PTFE (Teflon) molds are the better choice when you need high-temperature resistance, chemical or solvent inertness, or a rigid mold for repeated high-volume casting cycles. We offer PTFE versions of many of our most-requested standards, including ASTM D638 and D790.

Every listed mold ships at a fixed price with no quote request required and standard invoicing.
Custom mold requests will be quoted within 1 business day with a lead time of 1-2 weeks for the requested molds.
Our moulds are 100% designed and produced in Ontario, Canada.

FAQ - custom silicone molds
What's the difference between silicone and PTFE molds for the same standard?
Both are dimensionally accurate. Silicone is flexible and easier to demold. We use different silicones depending on what works best for each geometry. PTFE holds up better to high temperatures, solvents, aggressive resins and repeated high-volume use.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship across Canada, the United States and internationally on a daily basis.
Our products are 100% Made in Canada and are covered by various free-trade agreements. Please check your local import regulations. We dispatch everything as DDU shipments unless otherwise discussed.
Shipping is free within North America for orders above $100 and worldwide shipping is free on orders above $500.
Can I order a mold without requesting a quote?
Yes. Every mold in our shop is listed as a fixed price and ships without a quote request.
Can a mold be customized to a non-standard dimension?
Yes, please send us an e-mail or click "Request a Quote" with the dimensions you need. We will get back to you within one business day.
What temperature range can these molds withstand?
230°C/450°F is the ceiling for silicone molds. Please note those molds are tools and will experience some level of degradation with repeated usage. Especially when working with elevated temperatures.
PTFE molds can go way beyond this temperature range.
Do you accept Purchase Orders?
Yes, we can process orders outside of our Online Store system as well. Please send Purchase orders to info@mbprototyping.com. We can accept CAD, USD or EUR payments.
What if I need a custom ASTM/ISO mold not in your catalogue?
Please send us an e-mail to info@mbprototyping.com or Request a Quote with all the details and we will get back to you with a quote as quickly as possible.
Typically, such custom projects come with a $300-$500 tooling fee.
Do you offer larger multi-cavity molds for higher throughput testing?
Yes, the same economics as for custom mold project applies here.
