ASTM C307 — Tensile Strength of Chemical-Resistant Mortar, Grout & Monolithic Surfacings
This 6-cavity gang silicone mold produces the complete set of tensile briquette specimens required by ASTM C307 in a single pour. ASTM C307 requires six test specimens to be prepared for each material, making this 6-cavity configuration ideal — one batch, one mold, one complete test set.
The figure-8 briquette shape (3 in. / 76.2 mm long, 1 in. / 25.4 mm gauge width, 1 in. thick) is designed to fail reliably in the narrow gauge section, providing consistent and repeatable tensile strength values for cementitious and chemically resistant materials.

Note: While chemical-resistant mortars and grouts are not usually under tension in service, tensile data are useful for determining the rate of cure and other properties, making C307 a standard quality control and R&D test for grout and flooring system manufacturers.

The molds are reusable.
However, silicone molds have a finite lifespan when using polyurethane or epoxy resins.
Applying a non-silicone based release agent and letting the mold rest for a few days after each use will increase the lifespan of the silicone molds.
