ASTM C348 — Flexural Strength of Hydraulic-Cement Mortar Prism Mold
This triple-gang silicone mold produces three 40 mm × 40 mm × 160 mm prism specimens per ASTM C348 for center-point flexural strength testing of hydraulic-cement mortars. The standard specifies triple-gang moulds for 40×40×160mm prisms Ontario, and the broken prism halves may subsequently be used for compressive strength determination per ASTM C349 — allowing two test results from a single set of specimens.
This mold is the direct companion to our ASTM C109 cube mold. Most cement testing programs run C109 and C348 together from the same mortar batch. Ordering both molds covers a complete mortar characterization program.

The 40×40×160mm prism geometry is one of the most widely used in global cement testing. It is shared between the North American ASTM C348 and the European EN 196-1 standard, making this mold suitable for labs working to either specification.

The molds are reusable.
However, silicone molds have a finite lifespan when using polyurethane or epoxy resins.
Applying a non-silicone based release agent and letting the mold rest for a few days after each use will increase the lifespan of the silicone molds.
